MUDANG: Two Hearts faces an uncertain future as EVR Studios goes silent amid layoffs, halted updates, and a disappeared website.

When MUDANG: Two Hearts was first revealed, it quickly caught the attention of gamers. The action-adventure title drew excitement not only from its premise, but also because of how polished and visually impressive it looked during its debut at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 in June. From its cinematic presentation to its confident gameplay showcase, MUDANG appeared to be one of those rare new IPs that immediately felt ambitious and promising.

However, despite the strong reception, signs suggest that its developer, EVR Studios, may have already been facing serious challenges even before the game could progress to its first playtests.

MUDANG Two Heart: Signs Pointing to a Possible Cancellation

Following its reveal, MUDANG: Two Hearts continued to build momentum. EVR Studios kept interest high by releasing regular dev diaries on their official YouTube channel, offering insights into development and reinforcing the idea that progress was steady. Updates were also posted on the game’s Steam page, keeping fans informed and engaged. And then it stopped.

Since the August’s update, there have been no new dev diaries and no news on Steam. On its own, this kind of silence isn’t unusual since studios can go quiet when they are busy with development. But then other events happening in the background paint a more troubling picture.

According to a report by Need4Games, EVR Studios reportedly laid off several employees within a month of MUDANG’s Xbox Showcase appearance, citing lack of funds. By July 2025, the studio had allegedly downsized dramatically from over 100 employees to just 22. At this time though, the dev diaries were still rolling out so fans didn’t think anything was wrong.

However since then, there was another major red flag, the EVR Studios’ official website has disappeared. The site now goes to a 404 and appears to be completely deleted. So while social media silence or delayed updates can sometimes be explained, a studio’s website going offline is far harder to dismiss.

As of now, no official statement has been made regarding the status of EVR Studios or MUDANG: Two Hearts. Everything remains speculative, but let’s face it, not without reason. A pause in dev diaries can happen. Development can slow. But when combined with layoffs, prolonged silence, and the disappearance of the studio’s website, the future of the game becomes more uncertain than not.
