You know that classic, bouncy rubber-hose animation from the 1930s? Now hand that whistling cartoon protagonist a loaded shotgun and a lit cigar. That’s the exact energy MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is bringing to the FPS genre. Fumi Games just dropped some fresh gameplay, and the action looks absolutely frantic.
Meeting Robo-Betty
The latest trailer from the Convergence Showcase puts a massive spotlight on a brand-new boss fight. Hidden deep beneath Mouseburg in a secret lab, you’ll be going toe-to-toe with Robo-Betty.
This isn’t just a quick skirmish, either. It’s a full-blown, three-stage gauntlet. She throws bombs, fires sweeping lasers, and forces you to stay constantly on the move.
Thankfully, the devs confirmed there are generous checkpoints between the phases. You won’t have to perfectly run the entire gauntlet just to scrape by.
We are excited to share the official gameplay reveal for Robo-Betty, just one of the unique bosses that you will encounter while sleuthing through Mouseburg.

Packing Serious Cartoon Heat
To take down giant mechanical threats like Betty, our gritty detective needs heavy firepower. The gameplay shows off a highly satisfying arsenal, from a punchy shotgun to a classic Tommy gun. Every shot lands with that snappy, exaggerated cartoon physics style that just feels great to watch. You’ll need every explosive at your disposal, too, especially the good old-fashioned dynamite.
The game features over 20 noir-soaked levels filled with corrupt mobsters and deadly traps. What starts as a simple missing persons case quickly spirals into a dark web of murders and kidnappings.

The FPS We Didn’t Know We Needed
It’s impossible not to draw comparisons to Cuphead when you see that gorgeous, frame-by-frame hand-drawn animation. But where Cuphead focused on 2D platforming, MOUSE translates that chaotic energy into a first-person shooter.
It’s currently sitting at number 17 on Steam’s most-wishlisted charts for a very good reason. The retro aesthetic is totally unique, but the gunplay looks genuinely tight and responsive.
We don’t have to wait long to hit the grim streets of Mouseburg, either. It launches on March 19th for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Ready to Clean Up Mouseburg
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is shaping up to be one of the most incredibly stylish shooters of the year. The blend of hardboiled noir storytelling with silly, rubber-hose animation creates a wonderfully weird contrast.
If the rest of the boss fights are as chaotic as Robo-Betty, we’re in for a wild, explosive ride.
