With an official announcement released on 6th March 2024, directly on Monster Jam’s Official Channel, announcing Monster Jam Showdown release for 2024. Just a few days ago, exactly on 11 April 2024, we received confirmation from Milestone, who announced the release date of Monster Jam Showdown. A new chapter and video game rendition of the famous monster truck show!
With the success of the television show born in 1992, the idea of bringing the adrenaline-pumping show offering the experience of spectacular jumps and races on rough terrain began in 2002 with Monster Jam: Maximum Destruction published by Ubisoft, followed two years later by Monster 4×4: Masters of Metal. The video game series continued under different publishers but failed to capture and amaze the player, although the recent Monster Jam Steel Titans and Steel Titans 2 developed by Rainbow Studio and published by THQ in 2019 and 2021 were appreciated.
Now it will be up to the Milestone team, now that they acquired the rights for the video game series, and seems to have what it takes to bring a breath of fresh air to the series with Showdown, the 10th chapter of the series.
Milestone just revealed on 11 April 2024, the release date of Monster Jam Showdown, arriving on 29 August 2024, on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). With early access on August 26, 2024.
There is still no news regarding the price and when pre-order will be available, assuming early access is reserved for those who pre-order the title, considering that the respective pages on each Store have not yet been published.
That said, the Milestone team seems to want to bring to the track the experience gained with HotT Wheels Unleashed 1 and 2, two excellent titles that have been appreciated by many fans. For Monster Jam fans, we have confirmation of 10 gameplay modes where exhibitions such as jumps, stunts, freestyle, and off-road racing will take center stage. Monster Jam Showdown also brings a whopping 66 Official Monster Trucks, 40 of which are included in the game at launch and 26 arriving as DLCs (some of which free). Among them, we have the return of classics such as El Toro Loco, Grave Digger, and Blue Thunder, alongside the debut of Kraken, ThunderROARus, Razin Kane, Lucas Stabilizer, and Big Kahuna.
