MIO Memories In Orbit is scheduled to release on January 20, 2026. It will be available on PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2. While it wasn’t included in the official release date announcement, it is also confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day-one.
MIO Memories In Orbit Fall Release Date and Price Announced
We are still reeling from the masterpiece which is Hollow Knight Silksong, and here we are again about to welcome another promising Metroidvania game. During the recently concluded PC Gaming Show presentation, Douze Dixiemes studio announced that its upcoming game, MIO Memories In Orbit, will be released on January 20, 2026.
Published by Focus Entertainment, the game will be available on PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. While pre-ordering is now available on the first three platforms, its Nintendo page isn’t live yet. But it’s confirmed to release there at the same time, so don’t worry Switch fans.
The big announcement didn’t just give us a release date, it also gave us an updated demo and a pre-order discount of 10%. Like most preorder discounts though, the 10% for PS5 is reserved for PS Plus members.
As for the updated demo, there are major improvements on compatibility so the game can run even on older PCs. There is also full controller mapping and visual rework for the map. Unfortunately, saved data from the old demo cannot be carried over to this version. Also, saved data from any of the demo versions cannot be transferred to the full game. The demo will be live only until December 19th.
Now what the release date announcement did not mention was that the game is also bound for Xbox Game Pass on day-one. Meaning, Ultimate and PC Game Pass members get to score this game for no additional cost.

MIO: Memories in Orbit is a gorgeous, atmospheric Metroidvania set inside the Vessel, a colossal spaceship-ark drifting in ruin and quietly being reclaimed by nature. You play as MIO, a nimble robot who awakens with no memories and must explore this decaying labyrinth to revive the ship’s lost mind, help and repair other robots, and uncover what caused the AI caretakers to fail.
Expect tight traversal and combat built around precision movement, ability upgrades like grappling, gliding, and wall-clinging, customizable modifiers that let you shape MIO to your playstyle, and a world that blends comic/anime-inspired visuals with a dreamy lo-fi-meets-choral soundtrack.
The game will officially launch on January 20, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
