Microsoft Partners With Rocksteady Co-Founders For New AAA Game
Microsoft has reportedly partnered with the co-founders of Rocksteady as they look to develop a new single-player AAA game.
Who Is Hundred Star Games?
Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios have teamed up with Rocksteady Studios co-founders Sefton Hill and Jamie Smith, who are reportedly working on a new game built on UE5.
Hill and Smith were fundamental in the development of the Batman Arkham trilogy, with Hill working as director and Walker acting as studio director for Rocksteady. Recently, they left the company to create Hundred Star Games, a new video games studio who are working on its first project.
Reported by eXtas1s on Exputer, the company’s first project is a “AAA-standard, single-player, action-adventure game built in Unreal Engine 5” and is being funded by Xbox Game Studios, which would likely see the game be an Xbox exclusive title.
Again, we don’t know what Hundred Star Games is working on, but the fact that the project has Xbox Game Studios onboard and that over 20 of the nearly 100 devs working on it are former employees of Rocksteady, I think we can expect something as epic and exciting as the Arkham series. I can’t wait.
