LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight – The Official Reveal

Among the big surprises from Gamescom 2025, especially from the two Xbox presentations, we got Legacy of the Dark Knight. A huge new chapter from LEGO starring the famous DC superhero. He returns in his fifth installment focused on Gotham, revealed on 21 August 2025.

It promises an epic adventure that pays homage to the series. Building, quite literally, the Legacy of Gotham City’s famous superhero. Batman and his allies will have to take on supervillains and clean up the city by investigating, fighting, and exploring, all while using awesome vehicles and gadgets. The game is scheduled to launch in 2026.

The Biggest Gotham Yet: Legacy of the Dark Knight vs. Arkham Knight

This is awesome news for big fans of Batman and LEGO. This new adventure promises to let us rediscover the origins and most iconic scenes from the series. Of course, it’s all wrapped up in that classic LEGO humor. Although this time, the cast is limited to just 7 playable characters:

  • Batman
  • Batgirl
  • Robin
  • Catwoman
  • Jim Gordon
  • Nightwing
  • Talia al Ghul

Each one has their own unique abilities to use for exploring and fighting in and around Gotham City. And the game map is supposedly seriously impressive, as confirmed by LEGO Games News on Twitter. They claim that the new LEGO Batman will even have a bigger map than the famous Arkham Knight. It’s divided into 4 islands, with the southern one being the largest.

In Conclusion

This is definitely exciting news and would make this LEGO title home to the biggest Gotham ever seen in a Batman video game. Although the density of content and detail will surely be a different story, especially given the non-realistic style of this series.

We’ll find out more about the game in the coming months, leading up to its 2026 launch. So, what do you guys think of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight? Let us know in the comments!
