Ironwing Valiant: Record of Astera is the Mecha action RPG from Tiger Team. A small indie development studio of enthusiasts with a project that’s been in development since 2021. Offering an interesting mix of Mecha-based gameplay in the style of Armored Core and an art style inspired by the Valkyria Chronicles series. As well as by Chinese and Korean mythology, and the famous Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Ironwing Valiant: Record of Astera – The Mecha Action RPG Coming to Steam
With an unexpected surprise on 23 July 2025, among the new arrivals on Steam is Ironwing Valiant: Record of Astera. The ambitious and interesting project from the indie studio Tiger Team, which presents itself as a Mecha-based Action JRPG. And it comes with the launch of the official game page on Steam.
All this is accompanied by a new, updated trailer that takes us to the kingdom of Astera. Featuring an interesting mix of third-person action aboard Mechs in the style of Armored Core. Paired with an art style deeply inspired by Valkyria Chronicles. With deep customization for the Valiants, including those of your companions:
Ironwing Valiant: Record of Astera – What We Know So Far
Ironwing Valiant therefore presents itself as an Action RPG experience aboard Mechs called Valiants. Taking us into the world of Euridia, where we will accompany the young Valiant pilot, Reinhardt Bauchel, in a desperate fight to protect his homeland. Offering therefore:
- Story and World: Plunging us into the world of Euridia, with events centered around the kingdom of Astera. Under siege by the forces of the Gundrian Empire. A desperate struggle across various locations including fortresses, rural villages, and mountain passes.
- Combat: Third-person action gameplay aboard our Valiant. With an arsenal of weapons at our disposal, including swords, shields, axes, missiles, and cannons. Accompanied in the field by one of the companions we will meet.
- Customization: Featuring deep customization of the Valiant, from weapons to individual main components. Each ideal for specific playstyles and situations. Not to mention the ability to customize our allies’ loadouts.
Ironwing Valiant has certainly captured the interest of many Armored Core and Valkyria Chronicles fans. The team confirms they are in the midst of negotiations to find a Publisher. Confirming more frequent updates and news. They also leave us with the new updated demo available on the Itch.io page.
