Hogwarts Legacy: HBO Confirm Harry Potter TV Series

HBO has confirmed a Harry Potter original TV series has been ordered with J. K. Rowling acting as executive producer.

In case you missed the news, HBO has confirmed a TV adaptation of the original Harry Potter books will be coming to its streaming service, HBO Max.

Speaking in an interview, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, David Zaslav, said the Harry Potter TV series will be a decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for.”

The Harry Potter TV series will remain faithful to the books, with at least seven seasons planned, one for each of the books published between 1997 and 2007.

HBO’s series will feature an all-new cast and be streamed on its newly rebranded Max streaming service, which combines its HBO Max and Discovery+ services.

Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, David Hayman, and Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling are joining as executive producers.

HBO’s announcement comes after Hogwarts Legacy’s release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in February.

There is no date for the HBO Harry Potter series, but it’s rumored to be set for a 2025 or 2026 start date.
