Gwent: New Roguelike Single-Player Expansion Out Now

CD Projekt Red, the developers behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, announce Gwent: Rogue Mage, a new roguelike single-player expansion.

GWENT: ROGUE MAGE AVAILABLE NOW

Gwent: Rogue Mage is a new roguelike single-player expansion for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.

Rogue Mage features an online leaderboard and cross-save progression, but other than that is an offline game.

Game director Vladimir Tortsov told IGN that the purpose of Rogue Mage is to give Witcher and Gwent fans “a reason to play modern-day Gwent in the format they prefer.”

Much like the multiplayer version of Gwent, Rogue Mage is a deck-building and card-collecting game, with players starting with just a dozen cards before they unlock more.

Following games like Slay the Spire and Monster Train, players earn experience by doing runs, where they also level up and unlock more cards.

Rogue Mage takes place hundreds of years before Geralt and follows Alzur, a mage trying to create the first-ever Witcher.

CPPR emphasizes that players should focus on the gameplay rather than the story and promise around 30 hours of content.

Gwent: Rogue Mage is available to buy, download, and play now on PC, iOS, and Android.
