Fans of high-speed 2D action have something exciting on the horizon. Inti Creates is bringing back one of its stylish side-series in a polished new package. The upcoming launch of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 will give players a chance to experience both entries together with fresh upgrades and new content.

Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection Release Date Announced

The Luminous Avenger iX sub-series is a spin-off of the long-running Azure Striker Gunvolt franchise, known for its fast-paced 2D action, stylish combat, and tight level design. While the iX titles aren’t exactly old classics, they’ve built a strong following since release and now they’re being revived in a complete package that longtime fans will appreciate and newbies can enjoy.

Developer Inti Creates has officially revealed Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection, launching on July 9, 2026. The collection includes 2019’s Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX and 2022’s Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2, along with all previously released DLC for both titles.

But this isn’t just a simple re-release. The Dual Collection introduces new balance adjustments and a brand-new Endless Battle mode for both games, challenging players to survive never-ending encounters against randomly selected bosses.

Each title also receives its own upgrades. The first game features an enhanced Darkness Trigger mode, while the sequel adds the new Spike Smash system, boosting Copen’s Razor Wheel.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection will officially launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on July 9, 2026.

According to the official announcement, the Switch 2 version will allow players to swap between a high-resolution 4K display mode and a high-performance 120fps mode. Pricing has not yet been revealed, and so as of writing, no preorder details have been announced.
