It’s like Guitar Hero, but with guns. This is probably the first thing gamers think about Gun Jam, a first-person shooter that has you following a beat pattern as you shoot.
In the trailer above, we see how its beat-matching mechanic works. You will encounter enemies and shoot them according to the beat marker you see on screen. You earn a corresponding score (Good, Perfect, etc.) depending on how accurate your shooting was to the beat. Developer Jaw Drop Games said the game’s soundtrack will comprise of original EDM, Trap, and Metal, and players will be able to choose to play between its Campaign and Arcade modes.
We also get a glimpse of the game’s map, Mubel, described by the developers as a vibrant city. “Undoubtedly, it’s going to be packed full of vivid colour, high energy, enemies to obliterate, and mesmerising levels to charge through. Over the past couple of years, our dev team have truly evolved the GUN JAM environment into a sci-fi fantasy, comic punk-themed playground,” Jaw Drop said in an update.
The map also has items that will help players get some boost while playing, including extra health, ammo, and jump pads to help you reach higher areas.
The developers promise to reveal more about the game in the coming months, most specifically the game’s playable characters, enemies and bosses, different weapons, and of course the songs included in its soundtrack.
