Grounded 2 Ziplines Are Coming As Confirmed By G2 Early Access Roadmap
Grounded 2’s roadmap confirms ziplines return in Summer 2026. Early access is live now, with major updates and new features already planned.
Grounded 2 is officially out in early access and fans of the first game wasted no time diving in the moment it unlocked. The original Grounded had built a solid following, and that enthusiasm clearly carried over. Players immediately jumped into the backyard once again to see how Obsidian expanded on the tiny survival world.

Grounded 2 Early Access Roadmap Confirms Ziplines for Summer 2026
Grounded 2 officially entered early access on July 30, 2025,for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass. As expected with early access releases, performance issues were present. Alongside the launch, they dropped an Early Access Roadmap, outlining the next big steps for Grounded 2. While it doesn’t include a 1.0 release date yet, it does offer a timeline of three planned seasonal updates (Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Summer 2026) plus a separate section titled “Future Plans.”

Fans won’t have to wait long for new content. The game just dropped but there’s already a Fall update scheduled. But the Winter 2026 update looks to be the biggest so far. It’s set to include Playgrounds, new creatures, Steam Deck verification, crossplay support tailored to Steam Deck, and improved support for the ROG Ally. That’s a lot of major technical and content work all in one season.
But for longtime fans, the most exciting part is what’s coming in the Summer 2026 update: ziplines. Their absence at launch puzzled many especially since they were such a useful and fan-favorite feature in the original Grounded.

I especially like the focus on the insect mounts, since the map is of a considerable size, the planned updates seem aimed in making them even more convenient.
