Far Cry 6: Third-Person Gameplay Connects You to Protagonist Dani
Far Cry 6 will let players see their character, Dani Rojas, in third-person — not just in cutscenes, but also during combat and more.

In an interview with GameSpot, the game’s narrative director Navid Khavari revealed that Far Cry 6 will feature POV shifts, which will allow players to connect more to Dani.
This feature, while already available in cutscenes, will also be seen in the following:
- During certain parts of combat
- When Dani is in guerilla camps – This allows players to see their character customizations come to life. In addition, players will also see Dani speak like how characters are presented in The Witcher, Dragon Age, and more. The POV shifts back to first-person when Dani leaves camp.
- Using a Supremo backpack – Khavari said the third-person view will let players “see all of the backpack’s effects, and better feel its impact in action.”
About Far Cry 6
Far Cry 6, the 6th main installment in the franchise, is set in the fictional Caribbean island of Yara. As Dani Rojas, join the revolution and fight alongside guerrilla fighters Libertad. Liberate Yara and its people from the tyrannical rule of leader Antón Castillo and his son Diego (embodied by Giancarlo Esposito [The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad] and Anthony Gonzalez [Coco]).
Far Cry 6: Features to Look Forward To
The people behind the game recently held an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit, and here are some of the awesome features we can’t wait to experience:
- Yara and the revolution – The game features an entirely new world, complete with new characters to meet, new challenges to face, and a new antagonist to beat.
- Grappling Hook and Wingsuit – Yes, both are making a comeback, but the devs say “it won’t be handed to [players] on a plate.”
- Takedowns – Players who love stealth will be happy to know that takedowns are gonna be back in Far Cry 6 “with plenty of new animations.”
- Co-op – The game will be fully available to play in co-op, just like Far Cry 5.
- Vehicles – Whether in land, air, or sea, the game features a wide variety of vehicles to help you travel from one location to another.
Improvisation for Guerillas
Improvisation will also play a huge part in the game, as guerrillas must use whatever’s available for them to fight the regime. Weapons and tools can be improvised with the help of Juan Cortez.
Some improvs shown in the game include a homing missile-throwing backpack as well as a minigun powered by a motorcycle engine. The possibilities are endless for those with creative minds!
Far Cry 6 Release Date
Far Cry 6 is set to officially launch October 7, 2021 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
