With the release date coming to a close CI Games decided to release a new gameplay trailer to shed some light on the new Lords of The Fallen. initially thought as make over. The title instead takes place 1000 years after the original 2014 title.

New Story

As stated the game takes place 1000 years after the original. The return of the demon God Adyr is coming to a close, as his dark forces have taken control of the 5 Holy beacons restraining the power of the God. As the chosen member of the Dark Crusaders and equipped with the Powerful Umbral Lamp you are tasked to restore the beacons and stop Adyr’s return.

Thus your journey will bring you to the region of Mournstead, in all its varied locations, from burning cities, forests, old underground mines and snowy forests. All filled with dangers and horrors. As well as powerful foes to take down. mysteries and improbable allies.

The Umbral Lamp

The powerful ancient relic at your disposal, this item will be an important asset in your journey. The Lamp will allow its bearer to traverse both Axion, the lands of the living, and Umbral the lands of the dead. Thus showing hidden areas or paths visible to only one of the planes. Not just that but as its bearer, if we fall in Axiom we’ll be able to come back once more in Umbral, thus have 2 lives.But beware that Umbral is a far more insidious place than Axiom, as it’s not a place for mortals. 

Classes and Companions

With 9 more classes to choose from, the classic sword&shield as Hallowed Knight, armed with a bow as Black Feather Ranger, a pyro expert with Pirate Cultist and more. Not to mention 3 major schools of sorcery in Radiance, Rhogar and Umbral. What makes it interesting though is that all of them differ in style, but it’s possible to adjust them to your likings with equipment and skills. As well as customize them visually with the various armor sets and useful equipment to aid your journey.

But your journey is not necessarily a lone one. You’ll encounter many NPCs that after a personal quest, or simply agree with your objectives, may aid in your journey. Of course while not forgetting being able to co-op with another player.
