Tempest Rising (TR) is the new real-time strategy game from the Slipgate Ironworks and 2B team. First announced in 2022 at the THQ Digital Showcase and later published in collaboration with 3D Realms.

A futuristic-themed RTS certainly inspired by the great classic Command & Conquer and other major classics from the late ’90s. With a classic base-building experience and 2 game campaigns with cutscenes between missions. Set in an alternate future of Earth struck by a nuclear conflict.

Tempest Rising Deluxe Edition: Play Early with the New RTS

Slipgate Ironworks and 2B are finally ready for the official launch of Tempest Rising. Their RTS inspired by the great classics of the ’90s and 2000s, offering a fast-paced base-building experience and fluid combat. Tempest Rising: Gameplay, Main Features, and Latest News

Tempest Rising presents itself as an RTS inspired by the classic base-building and military units formula. Developed on Unreal Engine 5 with a 3D approach to the genre, but certainly inspired by the classic Command & Conquer series, offering:

• Epic Campaign: An epic 11-mission campaign for the 2 factions, accompanied by cutscenes and an intense story between missions.
• Asymmetric Factions: Two playable factions at launch, Global Defense Forces and Tempest Dynasty. Each with its own units, technologies, and playstyle. A third faction will be added post-launch.
• Game Modes: With a double campaign, Skirmish mode, and custom matches. Not to mention the Multiplayer component with Glicko-2 ratings for Ranked matches.

All accompanied by an exceptional soundtrack. Featuring 41 tracks from composers such as Michael Markie, Hexenkraft, Music Imaginary, and Sigurd Jøhnk-Jensen. All curated by Frank Klepacki, the composer behind the Command & Conquer series. And the team is leaving us with the second episode of the Making Of the game.
