Tango Gameworks (TG) is a Japanese development studio based in Tokyo. Founded in 2010 by Shinji Mikami before being acquired by Zenimax in the same year. The studio is primarily known for The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the latest project with the acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush.
The studio was announced to be closing by Microsoft in June 2024, despite the positive feedback for Hi-Fi Rush. With the decision of South Korean publisher KRAFTON to acquire the studio, forming a creative partnership between the development team and Microsoft. Tango Gameworks: The Studio’s Return Announced at Last
After a great odyssey for the Tango Gameworks development team, the team is finally returning with fantastic news. Announcing its highly anticipated return almost a year after the announcement of the closure. Officially announced on June 2, 2025.
The revival of the development team comes with a new official website for the team. Plus, a new logo redesign and some small updates about the situation. The team is back in its Tokyo office, confirming a “hybrid” working environment. Likely indicating a smart working solution.

Tango Gameworks and the new mysterious Action game in development
Along with the exciting news of their return, the TG team confirms they are also hiring new staff. With the goal of developing a new Action game as the team’s first debut title under the KRAFTON publisher. Specifically looking for roles for:
- Programmers: Senior Application, Graphics, and System roles, plus one UI role.
- Senior Level Designer.
- Animation: Senior Animation and Cutscene Manager.
- VFX, Modelling, and Facilities: Senior VFX Technical Artist and Senior Character Artist. With roles for IT Support and Facilities Manager.
Key roles that confirm the game is still in the Planning stage. With the need for several Senior roles to move forward to the Pre-Production phase. As for the hires, the team needs competent and available people in the Tokyo area, with at least a Business-level Japanese JLPT N2. Emphasizing in-office interaction, sharing ideas and opinions.

Almost a year later, the Tango team is finally ready to return. With a team already starting the initial stages to restore the studio and begin working on the first project.
