Revolution at STALKER 2: Patch 1.2 Fixes 1,700 Bugs and Overhauls

STALKER 2 is the sequel to the famous S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, a post-apocalyptic survival adventure game series. It takes us to an alternate future in the Exclusion Zone of Chernobyl, inspired by the world presented in the 1979 film Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky.

A sequel certainly affected by a troubled development, but since its release on November 20, 2024, it has captivated many. Celebrated by fans and appreciated by new players. Although criticized for the numerous bugs and performance issues, also caused by the transition from Unreal Engine 4 to 5 during development.


STALKER 2: The Big New Update 1.2

A few weeks after patch 1.14, the GSC team announces the release of patch 1.2 for STALKER 2. One of the biggest updates for the team’s first-person survival game, with the team confirming over 1700 fixes.

A gigantic list of fixes covering all aspects of the game. From the Story, NPC AI, performance, and much more. Update 1.2 is available starting February 13, 2025, just in time for an improved experience over the Valentine’s weekend!



STALKER 2 Patch 1.2: What Are the Most Important Fixes and Improvements?

As mentioned by the team, this is one of the biggest updates dedicated to improving the experience. With thousands of various fixes to different aspects of the game, particularly:

Technical Part

  • AI: Improved NPC interactions between combat, stealth, and with the world and objects
  • Balancing: Various balancing for enemy attacks, armor rarity, and more.
  • Optimization: Improved experience with fixes for some crashes and performance issues.

Story

  • Main Story: Over 300 fixes related to main story missions
  • Side Missions and Encounters: Numerous fixes to interactions and side missions.

The Zone

  • Interaction: Various fixes to visual bugs and interactions with the game world
  • Equipment and Status: Fixes related to equipment and its proper use, as well as various combat interactions and animations.
  • Player Interface and Settings: Numerous UI fixes as well as game control settings. Plus some additions like compatibility with Razer devices
  • Regions and Locations: Fixes to the game map with some pop-ups and geometry issues. Also visual and terrain improvements to certain locations and regions.

In Conclusion

Great news for STALKER 2 fans. They will finally be able to complete missions such as “On the Edge” and “Visions of Truth”. The patch is accompanied by version 1.21, which fixes some game crashes. Although many are hoping for a future update related to game performance. The next major update will be the promised Multiplayer mode from the team.
