Sam Fisher brings Third Echelon tactics to Ghosts of Tabor VR

The wait for the official Splinter Cell remake drags on. While Ubisoft Toronto remains quiet about the main entry, Sam Fisher has found a new way to stay active. The legendary operative has just infiltrated the VR extraction shooter Ghosts of Tabor.

Combat Waffle Studios dropped this surprise crossover DLC on December 17. It offers fans a chance to equip Third Echelon gear while waiting for Fisher’s standalone return.

Splinter Cell Meets Tactical VR

Ubisoft might be taking its time with the console remake, but they are actively licensing the IP. Following the Deathwatch Netflix series, this collaboration brings Fisher directly into the high-stakes world of virtual reality.

Scott Albright, founder of Combat Waffle Studios, emphasized that this isn’t just a cosmetic cash-grab.

Splinter Cell defined a generation of tactical gameplay, and we are translating that legacy into VR,” Albright stated. He aims to prove that VR platforms deserve the same caliber of content as traditional consoles.

The Sam Fisher Loadout: What You Get

This isn’t a free update, but the content list is substantial for tactical enthusiasts. The Splinter Cell DLC pack is priced around $12.99 (depending on region/platform) and focuses heavily on immersion.

Players gain access to character creation elements styled after Third Echelon operatives. The weapon selection is the real draw here.

The pack includes the signature FN Five-SeveN pistol and the H&K MP7. For close-quarters combat, the Karambit knife is now available. Most importantly, the bundle features Fisher’s iconic Multi-Vision Goggles, a staple of the franchise.

Ghosts of Tabor: The Tarkov of VR

If you haven’t played Ghosts of Tabor yet, think of it as Escape from Tarkov meets DayZ in a VR headset. It mixes PvP, PvE, and intense survival mechanics.

The timing of this DLC is strategic. The base game is currently seeing significant discounts across Steam, Meta Quest, and PS VR2 until early January.

Verdict: Is the Splinter Cell DLC Worth It?

For VR owners starving for stealth content, this is an easy win. The addition of the Five-SeveN and NVGs adds a layer of authentic tactical roleplay that fits perfectly with Ghosts of Tabor’s extraction loop. While it doesn’t replace a full Splinter Cell game, it’s the closest thing to becoming Sam Fisher right now.

Will you be picking up the night vision goggles, or are you holding out for the official remake?
