Resident Evil Requiem – First Creators Message #1 Revealed
Resident Evil Requiem was featured in the Capcom Spotlight on June 26. The team revealed the first Creators Message for the game. We heard from director Koshi Nakanishi, art director Tomonori Takano, and the two producers Masachika Kawata and Masato Kumazawa.
They gave us a deeper look at the new chapter in an 8-minute video. Explaining in detail the kind of experience the team wants to introduce with RE:9. Also talking about the creation of Grace’s character and the visual presentation of the new title. Remember, the game is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Resident Evil Requiem: News from the Creators Message and Latest Updates
The first Creators Message of RE:9 brings some really interesting news. In particular, it explains the team’s vision during the creation of the new chapter. This first reveal gives us the 3 main points:
- Game Concept: Nakanishi talks about the type of fear he wants to bring. A step forward from the formula used in RE:7, where it seems we can face some situations in a different way, overcoming our fears with a strong sense of realism.
- Visual Concept: Takano talks particularly about the game’s visual side. With a strong inspiration from the black-and-white aesthetic of film noir and metallic reflections. The “Noir & Metal” vibe comes to life thanks to RE:9’s urban context.
- Protagonist: The creation of Grace has been deeply studied by the team. A protagonist with a reserved personality, in stark contrast with previous ones. Players will grow to appreciate her by sharing the progress and challenges she faces throughout the story.
They also mentioned how the team integrated the Strand feature created for Diana’s hair in PRAGMATA, giving it a more realistic touch. Among the latest updates, RE:9 has already surpassed 1 million wishlist on Steam and Playstation. Confirming strong fan interest in Grace and the return to Raccoon City.
