It looks like the Holidays are well in the way for Gran Turismo fans. Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced that Gran Turismo 7 is getting a huge update in December which brings Sophy 3.0 and a new Power Pack DLC. Get ready for some hardore racing with 50 new races including 24-hour endurance events, updated AI, and more!
Gran Turismo 7 Gets a Major Update in December
Playstation exclusive, Gran Turismo 7, is about to get even bigger. The game officially launched in 2022 and has featured over 400 cars from more than 60 manufacturers. It has had many races and made countless gamers happy the past three years. And they’re about to top that this year with the launch of Sophy 3.0 and Power Pack DLC on December 4th.
The Power Pack DLC is a paid one and will unlock 50 new races including 24-hour endurance events (perfect for Le Mans fans), across 20 theme categories. There will also be full race seasons which allow players to experience practice, qualifying, then to main event progression.
Exclusive to the DLC is also the latest evolution of the GT7 AI Racer. Sophy 3.0 will feature realistic AI behavior that will make players “go wheel-to-wheel in heart-pounding, tail-to-nose battles.” If that wasn’t enough, the DLC also includes 5M in-game credits.
While the inclusions are already revealed, Sony Polyphony Digital has not announced how much the DLC will cost. But since we’re less than a month until launch, we’ll know soon.

It’s a great end of the year update for Gran Turismo 7. However, there is a fine print. The Power Pack DLC is exclusive to Playstation 5 only. Meaning, Playstation 4 members will miss out on this unless they upgrade, which isn’t a bad idea especially considering Sony is focusing on PS5 by next year.
