Doom fans, the wait is almost over. We’re just a few stones away from the release of DOOM The Dark Ages, and in less than two weeks, players will finally get their hands on the latest entry in one of gaming’s most legendary franchises.
DOOM The Dark Ages Preload and File Size
If you’re planning to jump in the moment it goes live, preload details are already out. According to multiple sources, the Standard Edition of DOOM The Dark Ages will be available to preload starting May 13th at 00:00 GMT, just two days ahead of the official launch. As for the Premium Edition, which comes with 2-day early access, preloading begins even earlier on May 11th.
Usually, we only find out the file size once the preload begins but this time, we already have that. Well at least for PS5. The account PlayStation Game Size shared on X that the game has a 84.324 GB download size for the standard version. If you’re getting or have the Premium Edition, there’s an extra 17.581 GB which is for the digital artbook that comes with it. That’s a pretty big file for artwork but it should be worth it for fans who enjoy behind-the-scenes content and game art.
As for Xbox and PC, the exact download sizes haven’t been officially shared yet but they’re expected to fall within the same ballpark. So you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the storage ready before the preload dates.
