Battlefield 6 – The Secure Boot Problem and How to Fix It
With just a day to go until the Open Beta in Early Access for Battlefield 6, some issues are already popping up for some users. Many fans who tried to launch the game to check or customize some settings have run into the error “Secure Boot is not Enabled.“
In short, Secure Boot is a modern feature of Windows 10 and 11 that only allows trusted software to run at startup. It works in conjunction with the EA Javelin Anticheat. To check if Secure Boot is enabled, just:
- Press Windows key + R or right-click the Start button and click on Run
- Type msinfo32 and press Enter / OK
- In the System Summary section on the right, look under System Information
- Check that the BIOS Mode section says UEFI and Secure Boot State is On
If it’s disabled, you’ll need to enable it manually from the BIOS. The steps vary, but the EA team has provided links from various motherboard vendors, along with a detailed guide on how to enable it.

Battlefield 6: The Secure Boot and Javelin Anticheat Issue
A much-discussed error among fans. And many more will face the same problem starting from 7 August 2025. This has certainly annoyed some, with the need to enable Secure Boot, in addition to having EA’s kernel-level Javelin anticheat. While on one hand it’s understandable to combat the cheater problem.
On the other hand, it poses some problems even on systems that aren’t exactly old. Since some users have had compatibility issues with Secure Boot on systems with motherboards dating back to early 2020, which include the B450, X470 series for AMD’s AM4 processors, or even Intel’s LGA 1200 with the H410, B460, H470, and Z490 series. But it’s also an anticheat that excludes other operating systems like Linux.

All in all, a rather tricky issue, but the majority of players should be fine. And EA’s guide allows you to fix and enable Secure Boot.
