Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (DS2) is the second chapter of the big hit by Kojima Productions. The development team led by the renowned Hideo Kojima, founded in 2015 after leaving Konami. The team debuted with a much-praised first chapter, and now brings us a sequel with a star-studded cast and an improved experience.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – Kojima confirms development completed
With the highly awaited release date reveal, the team led by Hideo Kojima announces a new update on Death Stranding 2. On May 9, 2025, the team shared that DS2 has achieved Gold status. It’s now ready for the physical distribution phase.
The game, as a reminder, will debut on June 26, 2025 as a PS5 exclusive. Those with the Deluxe and Collector editions will get 48-hour early access. This announcement was shared by Kojima himself along with a group photo. Additionally, he filled the right eye of the Daruma doll, a symbol of achieving the desired goal.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – Latest news
With the confirmation of Gold status, the game is ready to enter the final production phase in the coming months. Mainly for the physical distributions, but that doesn’t mean the team is done working. In fact, with just over a month left, there will be final tests and potential fixes applied in the Day One Patch.
The team is taking a short break to celebrate the milestone, also announcing the highly anticipated selection of the DEATH STRANDING Year-Round Photo Mode Campaign for March. The winner was Shadow with 20 honorable mentions.
