There is a specific kind of loneliness that only Hideo Kojima can capture. It’s the sound of boots crunching on gravel, the wind howling through a barren canyon, and the sudden relief of seeing a ladder left behind by a stranger.

That atmosphere is heavy, it’s beautiful, and it’s about to look better than ever for a whole new group of players. Kojima Productions has finally broken the silence regarding the PC release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach!

If you’ve been holding out for the port, you don’t have much longer to wait to start your trek across Australia.


A New Horizon on March 19

It’s official: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach arrives on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 19, 2026. But this isn’t just a simple file dump. The studio has teamed up with Nixxes Software, who are basically wizards when it comes to PC ports.

They’re bringing the full suite of tech you’d expect. We’re talking NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS support right out of the gate. If you have the hardware, the uncapped framerates are going to make those tense encounters with the BTs feel incredibly fluid.


The Ultrawide Experience

One of the major features of this port is the monitor support. The game is adding support for 21:9 Ultrawide, which applies to both gameplay and cutscenes.

This actually extends to the PS5 version as well, but PC players get an extra treat with 32:9 Super Ultrawide support. Imagine walking through a sandstorm or watching a forest fire on the horizon with that kind of peripheral vision. It’s going to be immersive in a way few games can manage.


Fresh Content for Veterans

Here is the interesting part for those who might have already played or are planning to play on console. The launch next month isn’t just bringing the game to a new platform; it’s bringing an update to everyone.

The developers confirmed that “new modes and features” are coming to both PC and PS5 simultaneously. They haven’t shown their hand fully yet, but they mentioned these additions will offer “new challenges and rewards.”

Could this be a Boss Rush mode? Or perhaps a harder survival difficulty that leans into the new natural disasters like earthquakes and floods? We’ll have to wait until next month for the specifics, but it’s good to know the PS5 community isn’t being left behind.


Pre-order Quirks

It wouldn’t be a Kojima game without some bizarre cosmetic items. If you decide to pre-order, you get a “Quokka” custom hologram. Yes, the smiling Australian marsupial.

There are also new skeleton types—the Battle, Boost, and “Bokka” skeletons available in Silver and Gold depending on the edition. It’s silly, sure, but customizing your backpack is half the fun of the endgame loop.
