With a new trailer shown at the Cronos: The New Dawn XBOX Games Showcase in June, Bloober Team releases a fresh trailer dedicated to the gameplay and enemy merging mechanics. Let’s dive into it!

Cronos: The New Dawn is the new third-person survival horror being developed by Bloober Team, the renowned Polish development team behind various titles such as The Medium, the Layers of Fear series, and more recently the celebrated Silent Hill 2 remake. With The New Dawn, they are presenting a new ambitious project that combines horror and time travel.

In this game, you play as the Traveler, an agent working for the mysterious Collective organization. You’ll explore 1980s Poland to retrieve and extract the essences of individuals who didn’t survive the Change, in an attempt to change the future. Cronos: The New Dawn – New Gameplay Showcase

Among the lineup at the XBOX Games Showcase of the Summer Game Fest 2025, we also got to see Bloober Team, who revealed the The Nest trailer for their much-anticipated Cronos: The New Dawn. The third-person survival horror game takes us through time anomalies back to 1980s Poland to retrieve souls of some individuals and change the future.

And the Bloober Team released a new brief trailer on June 13, 2025, dedicated to showing us new gameplay scenes inside the Jędruś electronics store. There, the Traveler discovers it’s inhabited by the Orphans, monstrous creatures. The trailer also shows off the enemy merge mechanic in action.

Cronos: The New Dawn: What’s New in Bloober Team’s Horror?

The two latest trailers give us a peek at the kind of experience and combat we’ll see in Cronos: The New Dawn. Exploring various locations, all with a strong horror vibe and teeming with monstrous creatures called Orphans. These creatures are born from the transformation of humans due to the cataclysm known as the Change.

In particular, the The Nest trailer shows the Traveler arriving at the ND-3500 destination. Finding another agent’s body and retrieving their log. It’s revealed that the Orphans have become more aggressive and can now coordinate. The priority is to destroy their nest. The trailer also confirms the game’s arrival on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in Fall 2025.

In Conclusion

Cronos: The New Dawn seems to be shaping up as Bloober’s big game for 2025. With an original IP that takes us into this post-apocalyptic version of 1980s Poland. Promising a survival adventure full of terror and combat that feels very reminiscent of Dead Space.
