A long time ago, the “Gods of Chaos” were fighting about who would rule the world. As time goes by, join a journey with Cyan a young man that is a “Warrior of Chaos” along with Eris and Xanthys who joined in guiding him.
Whether played solo or with two non-compulsory local partners, Trinity Trigger channels the enjoyment of a ‘90s-era action role-playing game. From interacting with each town’s NPCs to delving into dungeons, almost every part of the game distills a sense of enjoyment.
I come away from Trinity Trigger largely apathetic. It’s a simple game with some nostalgic charm, but irritating ally behavior, tedious weapon/rune systems, and a mundane plot makes it an easy pass, especially as a single-player game. If you have a local friend to play with, Trinity Trigger may offer an easygoing 20-hour experience you can play together, but otherwise there’s not much to latch onto here.
