Slay the Princes is a choose-your-own-adventure visual novel game developed by Black Tabby Games as the title suggests you are here to kill the princes, she will do everything to stop you, she will use charm, she will lie, she will promise you the world, and if you let her, she will kill you a dozen times over. You cannot let that happen because the world rests on your shoulders.

• Enjoy hand-penciled art, all of the background and sprites are drawn traditionally with pencil and paper, made by award-winning graphic novelist Abby Howard.
• Choosing different actions will give you a different ending, a branching narrative that will depend on who you are as a person.
• Every time you die, (and you will a lot) time loops so you will need to be careful and stay focused on the task at hand.
• The game is fully voiced by the talented Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight.

It’s not often that a visual novel sticks with me after the credits roll, but Slay the Princess – The Pristine Cut has been with me the last week or so after getting many endings. There’s an intriguing story, great penciled artwork, and flawless voice acting. The branching paths and dialogue options are substantially different from one another and makes for one of the more memorable visual novels that deserve to be up there with the best of the genre.

You’ll go through a tonne of emotions (mostly unease), but you’ll always remain engaged thanks to a great voice cast and a script that is more than happy to explore uncomfortable ideas.

It’s gross, heartfelt, morbid, mind-fucking, and touching all at once, and how much you get out of it will depend on your penchant for the bizarre. Now I need to go lie down and think happy thoughts.
