Big boom, badaboom. Monsters are invading the world, and a group of mercenaries is going to try to wipe them out. That's the storyline! Then there's a very deliberate aspect to this cooperative FPS (up to 4 players, probably not as good in solo mode...): B-movie gore with trashy humor, wacky monsters, excessive, brutal action, and over-the-top staging. You can upgrade your character and your guns extensively. A great way to let off some steam?
John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is the bloodiest game I have ever seen, and that is good, I mean it is spectacular how cool the zombie massacres look and we all know we sometimes just need a game where to shoot and enjoy seeing everything bleed, burn and explode around us. Game can be played in co-op and a part of the devastating weapons we also have different vehicles used to travel the maps and to, oh my god, run over the zombie hordes. Definitely a very relaxing game to play.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando feels like one of those games people are curious about more than excited for right now, the co-op focus and over-the-top monsters fit the B-movie vibe well, but with the release pushed to 2026 and not much new footage lately, it’s mostly a waiting game to see if the gameplay ends up being as fun as the concept sounds on paper.
