It's undeniable that Forspoken is not a great game, but definitely one that hurt the most coming from Square Enix, who has more or less released some impressive titles, story wise, in the last decade. Subsequent to the developers inadequacy the studio has even shut down, as not being able to deliver the hoped result nor fix the game, as its very core is undeniably mediocre, as not only it's unimpressive visually (despite the decent gameplay) but also runs poorly on PS5 beefy hardware.
Forspoken is an action RPG with magic that's for user for combat and traversal. The game was not well received mainly due to poor story, characters and dialogue. I haven't played yet but the gameplay appears to have its good moments with some nice combat scenerios but overall a bit dull in my opinion. I'm planning on getting it unless it's with a very big discount
Forspoken unfortunately falls short of the high expectations I had for it. While the world of Athia is visually stunning and the traversal mechanics are smooth, the overall gameplay experience feels lacking and uninspired. The combat, in particular, feels shallow and repetitive, failing to provide the depth and excitement that was promised. The story, despite the potential for a captivating narrative, falls flat with a lackluster plot and underdeveloped characters. The voice acting, including Ella Balinska's performance, is one of the few highlights, but it alone cannot salvage the overall experience. Technical issues and performance problems further hinder the enjoyment of the game, leading to frustration and disappointment.
