Battlefield Redsec, the surprise free-to-play Battlefield 6 royale mode that was only revealed by EA last night, is now available to download and play for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Redsec brings an all-new competitive twist to the Battlefield franchise with its fast-paced, squad-based gameplay. The battle royale is available now for PC and consoles.
The game’s Steam store page promises “ultimate free-to-play FPS destination built on Battlefield’s iconic DNA. Featuring Battle Royale, Gauntlet, & the power of Portal.”
Gameplay Features
EA’s new free-to-play battle royale focuses on squad-based matches on the mode’s exclusive map, Fort Lyndon. Features include massive-scale destruction, fast-paced action, and “the deadliest ring in BR.”
Redsec comes with multiple modes, including a battle royale, Gauntlet, and Portal modes. Gauntlet is a knockout-style elimination mode where squads race and compete to complete missions. In a surprising move, Redsec also comes with Portal support, allowing users to create “unique and unforgettable experiences” for free.
Launch Details and Platforms
Battlefield Redsec, which was only officially announced last night, is now available for download and play. This new game mode is free for everyone, and you do not need to download or own Battlefield 6.
Early downloaders were met with queues, with some reports showing up to 50,000 people waiting to get into the battle royale.
