Battlefield 6 is kicking off its second and final Open Beta weekend, and this one is loaded with content. EA is giving fans a four-day send-off before the game’s full launch, with the beta running from August 14 at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST until August 17 at the same time. If Weekend 1 was a warm-up, Weekend 2 is the full-blown showcase, with new modes, a fresh map, exclusive rewards, and even an expanded matchmaking feature to keep players hooked.

 

What’s New on Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2

Weekend 2 isn’t just a rerun, it builds on last week’s content while adding plenty to keep things fresh. All the staple modes from Weekend 1 are back including Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill remain playable on Iberian Offensive, Liberation Peak, and Siege of Cairo. These modes already gave players a taste of Battlefield’s large-scale warfare and tight close-quarters combat, but this weekend goes even bigger.

Two additional fan-favorite modes, Rush and Squad Deathmatch, are now in rotation, offering faster-paced and more tactical gameplay. On top of that, EA has dropped a brand-new map (Empire State) bringing urban warfare into the mix with verticality, choke points, and plenty of destruction.

For those wanting to mix it up even more, closed weapon playlists are now available for Conquest and Breakthrough. These curated loadouts strip away some gear and emphasize specific weapon types, pushing players to adapt their tactics and rely on skill over their usual comfort picks.

  • Day 3-4 Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th
    • Conquest
    • Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch).
    • All-Out Warfare; Epic battles across expansive maps (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)
    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

The final beta weekend also comes with three limited-time challenges with rewards that will carry over to the full game:

  • War Machine vehicle skin – Capture 42 flags in Conquest, Domination, or King of the Hill
  • Bad Company dog tag – Rack up 200 kills or assists
  • Dominion weapon package – Capture 10 sectors in Breakthrough or Rush
 

Now it’s not just new content this weekend. One of the biggest additions is Custom Search. While it’s not a full-blown server browser (not at all), it allows players to customize matchmaking preferences by picking specific modes and maps before queuing. The game will try to match these requirements as closely as possible.
