Battlefield 6 Challenges and Assignments Now Easier After Latest Update

EA and Battlefield Studios have released a new update that significantly overhauls challenges and assignments in Battlefield 6, dramatically reducing the grind for over 90 in-game tasks.

Battlefield 6 Challenges and Assignments Now Easier After Latest Update

This latest update significantly reduces the requirements to complete challenges, cutting down time investment, and focuses on “skill-driven progression,” says Battlefield Studios.

The best news could be that the update was made server-side, meaning that any progress made so far will automatically apply when first joining a match, “unlocking any challenges and assignments you now meet based on the updated criteria.”

Class & Weapon Grind Slashed Dramatically

In the Battlefield 6 community update shared by Battlefield Studios, the developer outlines the massive changes to Class Assignments.

One notable change is in the Assault Challenges, specifically, the requirement for the Assault 2 challenge. Previously, squadmates needed to spawn on your beacon 50 times, but this requirement has now been lowered to just 5, resulting in a 90% decrease.

Weapon assignments have also been “significantly simplified.” For instance, the Rapid Fire 1/Assault Rifle assignment dropped from a staggering 10,000 inflicted damage to a much less grindy 3,000.

Standardizing Mode Objectives and Mastery

As part of the update, the developer has standardized most of the Battlefield 6 mode-specific assignments, including across Conquest, Rush, Breakthrough, and Domination. The change “makes it easier to pursue these challenges with clear intent.”

The overall goal of this update is to balance the challenges and assignments with the natural flow of gameplay. Instead of focusing solely on completing challenges, players will now complete tasks as part of the regular combat experience.

The Philosophy: Less Grind, More Play

EA and Battlefield Studios want players to spend less time grinding for rare achievements. Rather than chase objectives that could impact the overall experience, the developer wants players to spend more time playing.

This update is only the latest in a long line of changes, after the last update increased XP earned in official matches and reduced XP required for the first attachment unlocks. Players can expect additional updates in the future as the developer continues to listen to feedback.

Conclusion

Battlefield Studios has drastically improved the quality of life for all players by significantly reducing the requirements for completing class and weapon challenges and assignments. Do you think this is a massive step forward for BF6? Share your thoughts in the comments.
