A fox’s mystic journey unfolds in Spirit of the North, where you, an ordinary red fox, meet with the spirit of the Northern Lights, a female fox spirit. Guided by her, explore Iceland’s stunning, mysterious landscapes, and uncover ancient secrets.
The sun nestles above the Icelandic-styled mountains, offering a primal landscape for your fox to adventure across, and it’s a beautiful, if simple, place to do so. At times the camera pans out to show mountains off in the distance, while the grass waves in the breeze; it’s genuinely breathtaking.
Spirit of the North offers decent length and will likely take most people about seven hours to get through. There are also collectibles in the form of finding staves and delivering them to corpses, and I found these to be difficult to locate. Searching for them can certainly add a good amount of playtime if you’re so inclined.
To some, a short relaxing spiritual adventure through some lush environments will really appeal. For me, I wanted more than what was delivered.
