Battlefield Studios has finally taken action on a weapon that has been bugged since Battlefield 6 launched last month, disabling the Lock-Guided Missile for the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV), ahead of a major content update next week.

The temporary removal of the weapon in Battlefield 6 after players and the developer found “inconsistencies” with the vehicle’s countermeasures.
This change is live now across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Battlefield Labs confirmed on X that the removal is only Temporary and that it will hopefully be “resolved in an update next week.”
Battlefield 6’s Lock-Guided Missile Removed from Play
The weapon, effective immediately, has been disabled across all platforms and game modes in Battlefield 6, including Conquest and Breakthrough, as the developer attempts to maintain competitive integrity.
Players will find the weapon removed upon entering their next match. This urgent action is designed only as a temporary fix before it is hopefully re-enabled with the next patch that is due on November 18.
Lock-Guided Missile Disabled for IFV.
We’ve temporarily disabled the Lock-Guided Missile (MR Missile) for the Infantry Fighting Vehicle as we work to address inconsistencies witnessed with this vehicle’s countermeasures. This change is live and will apply from your next match… — Battlefield Comms (@BattlefieldComm) November 6, 2025
Identifying the Game-Breaking Exploit
Since Battlefield 6’s launch, players have reported a game-breaking bug that causes the Lock-Guided Missile to ignore its target’s countermeasures. The result is that no matter whether it’s a tank, a helicopter, or a jet, it destroys its target almost every time.
Although it took some time for Battlefield Labs to respond to the issue, the weapon has now been temporarily removed until a permanent fix is deployed next week. This ensures that matches maintain a fair spirit of play.
What to Expect in Next Week’s Major Update
Beyond the critical fix to the Lock-Guiden Missile, Battlefield 6 will get a major content update next week on November 18 as part of the Season 1 roadmap. The California Resistance update introduces the new Eastwood map, weapons, attachments, and Sabotage game mode.
Players can also expect various fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and several rebalances as Battlefield Labs continues to patch and improve the FPS and the core gameplay experience.
Conclusion
EA’s latest first-person shooter, Battlefield 6, has had a weapon, the Lock-Guided Missile for the IFV, disabled as developer Battlefield Labs looks to patch its performance ahead of the major content update coming on November 18.
