After the news at the end of 2023 of the price increase of the PlayStation Plus subscription, and with Microsoft limiting the possibility to extend the Game Pass beyond a certain limit in some countries, EA is also intending to update the prices of its own service, EA Play. The subscription service that allows players to access an extensive library of Electronic Arts’ catalog at an affordable price.
The news released by Games Industry.biz shows an increase in both tiers of EA Play. An increase that, while not too noticeable in the single month, shows a certain change when calculated on the annual subscription. We have the new lineup of:
EA Play Standard: from $4.99/€ per month to $5.99/€.
From $29.99/€ per year to $39.99/€
EA Play Pro: from $14.99/€ per month to $16.99/€.
From $99.99/€ per year to $119.99/€
Where EA Play Pro allows you to play many of the new EA games in advance and with the Premium version. A change that precisely reflects the trend of the market which has seen an increase in the price of various subscription services lately, although some without any variation in the quality of service (and some even with a step back).
The new price, as will be explained shortly to subscribers by email from EA, will be set from 10th May 2024, leaving just one month for subscribers to extend with the old price or decide whether to continue or not. Also, remember that those who are already subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the highest tier, will automatically have access to the EA Play Standard version.
