E3 Alternatives

In 2023, due to low publisher interest after Covid, E3 didn’t happen, and unfortunately, it won’t this year either. But E3 isn’t the only gaming event in the summer. Here, we’ll suggest some alternatives so you won’t miss out on exciting events.

Key Information

  • This year, E3 won’t happen.
  • You can check out plenty of other events this summer.

Alternatives to E3

Below, I’ll show you some alternatives to E3. Let’s start with the Summer Game Fest, hosted by Geoff Keighley. This event is unofficially dubbed as the successor to E3. Summer Game Fest will take place on June 7th at 23:00 CEST. Publishers will unveil their new games here and developers will give interviews. World premiere trailers will also be showcased at the Summer Game Fest.

Immediately following the Summer Game Fest is the Day of the Devs event. This is a smaller event mainly showcasing independent games. Here, you can discover new exciting indie games among the first. This event takes place on June 7th or 8th, right after the Summer Game Fest.

On June 8th at 15:00 CEST, the Future Games Show: Summer Showcase will happen. This event will be hosted by Roger Clark. Here, you’ll probably find over 50 new top games, similar to the last event.

However, on June 8th at 18:00 CEST, there’s also the Wholesome Direct event. This focuses mainly on relaxed and feel-good games. Once again, the focus will be on indie games.

The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase will take place on June 9th at 19:00 CEST. Here, you’ll see the latest Bethesda and Microsoft games. It’s also been announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be shown for the first time in this showcase. But there will be more games for Xbox and from Microsoft.

The PC Gaming Show starts on June 9th at 22:00 CEST. This event exclusively focuses, as the name suggests, on PC games. There will be new trailers, announcements, and interviews with developers.

On June 10th, the Ubisoft Forward event will happen. Of course, everyone hopes for more information or even gameplay scenes from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. But besides Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft will also provide insights into other projects.

Last but not least, there’s Nintendo Direct. There’s no exact date for Nintendo’s event yet, but it’s confirmed to be in June. However, it’s been announced that this will only involve introducing new games, and there won’t be details about the successor to the Nintendo Switch.
