Why Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered won’t be releasing this March
Bad news for Musou fans hoping to relive the PS2 era this spring. Koei Tecmo has officially hit the brakes on the release of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered.
Originally set to launch on March 19, 2026, the game has been delayed indefinitely. The publisher confirmed that a new release date will be shared at a later time, leaving the title in limbo for now.
Why Koei Tecmo Delayed the Launch
Producer Tomohiko Sho addressed the community directly through social media. He explained that the team needs more time to polish the experience.
“As the first remaster of the Dynasty Warriors series, we have decided to further improve the quality of the game to fully satisfy our fans,” Sho stated.
The decision seems to stem from a desire to avoid a rocky launch. Given that this is the first major remaster effort for the franchise, the pressure is on to get the Unreal Engine 5 upgrade right.

DW3 Remastered: The Details
Despite the setback, anticipation remains high. This isn’t just a simple port; it’s a full overhaul running on Unreal Engine 5.
The package includes the base Dynasty Warriors 3 game plus the Xtreme Legends expansion. Players can expect over 40 playable officers, revamped 1 vs 1,000 combat, and upgraded visuals for modern hardware.
Confirmed platforms include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The delay might be disappointing, but a polished game is always better than a broken one. While we wait for a new date, you can still find action in the current lineup. Although in the meanwhile the team has also released the Vision of Four Heroes DLC for DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS.
