Divinity Original Sin 2 Gets a Playable Undead Race!
Larian Studios has unveiled the new Undead race which is coming to Divinity Original Sin 2. These bony characters can be played in any race you choose, and comes with customization options to make them look, well, a little pretty – from facial hair, to jewels, or even the color of their bones!

Another thing is that any race (Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Lizardfolk) or gender can be played as an Undead, and they come with “very unique gameplay mechanics” as Larian describes them. One example cited was the skill “Play Dead.” With this skill, the Undead can pretend to be a corpse to get out of combat, or even avoid getting the attention of patrolling guards. They can also use their bony fingers to pick on locks – no lockpicks needed! The Undead can also heal by using poison, and they can get poisoned with healing potions.
And being the bony characters that they are, the Undead cannot just free roam the world in their bony self. The mere sight of them incites fear among NPCs, so they need to disguise themselves. They can use the Mask of the Shapeshifter which allows them to rip the face off a corpse and then disguise themselves as someone from that race. They can make as many masks as they like, and even have other living characters use their mask in order to disguise themselves as if they are from another race.
