CDPR SETTLE CYBERPUNK 2077 LAWSUIT
CD Projekt Red has settled out of court in the class action lawsuit brought by investors against the Cyberpunk 2077 developer.
The settlement, approved by a judge, sees CD Projekt Red pay $1.85 million to investors after they brought a class action lawsuit against the developer for “misleading statements” made about the game’s state ahead of its launch in December 2020.
The lawsuit claims Cyberpunk 2077 was “virtually unplayable” on Xbox One and PS4 and alleges that CD Projekt Red knew it and withheld it from investors and players.
Since its launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has received numerous updates and patches to fix its problems and stability issues across all platforms.
CD Projekt Red reported an increase of nearly 70% in profits at the end of 2022 after sales of the game increased thanks to its patches and the release of the popular Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix.
All efforts from CD Projekt Red now turn to the new Witcher game in development and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 DLC starring Idris Elba.
