Cult of the Lamb has officially arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 bringing sharper visuals, smoother performance, and an upgrade path for existing owners. The new edition gives the popular roguelike a technical boost without increasing its $24.99 / €24.99 EUR / £22.49 price tag. And the best part? The upgrade is free for both digital and physical edition owners with no deadline to worry about.
Cult of the Lamb Launches on Switch 2 With a Free Upgrade
Released on October 22, 2026, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Cult of the Lamb improves the experience without asking existing players to pay extra. Both digital and physical edition owners can simply head to the Nintendo eShop and download the free upgrade pack. There’s no deadline to claim it so players can upgrade whenever they’re ready.
The new version runs at 1080p in both handheld and docked modes, targeting 60fps compared to the original Switch version’s 30fps. It also adds GameShare support, making it easier to enjoy the game with others.
Free upgrades are always good news, especially considering that around the Switch 2 console launch, most games’ upgrades included a price tag. It’s good to see more publishers giving existing owners a reason to revisit their games in better quality at no additional cost. In fact earlier today, Hitman Absolution also launched on Switch 2 and offered a free upgrade path for Switch owners. Unlike Cult of the Lamb though, Absolution has a deadline for claiming the free upgrade.
