THQ Nordic and Avalanche Studios has released the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming co-op shooter, Generation Zero. The trailer gives us our first look at the game’s curious alternate-history setting and robot-busting gameplay.

The game’s premise is that you’ve just come back from a trip with a bunch of friends to find that everyone else has disappeared and that the world has been overrun by homicidal robots. Of course, that’s when all the shooting commences. Check out the full gameplay trailer below:

The game will feature seamless co-op, a deep crafting system, dynamic weather, a day and night cycle, and a vast open world. The scavenging component of the game will push players to explore the open world in search of better gear and weapons, and at the same time find clues as to what really happened while the characters were away on their trip.

Generation Zero will be launching some time in 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4. THQ Nordic will be bringing the game to this year’s Gamescom in Germany where fans will be able to sample its gameplay.
