Chained Echoes: Ashes of Elrant Coming This August - DLC News!

Chained Echoes (CE) is a retro pixel-style fantasy RPG by Mathias Linda. The German solo dev from Umami Tiger created his first big project as a love letter to 16-bit RPG classics. Development started back in 2015, funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2019. Supported by Deck13’s team, it launched on 8 December 2022.

CE saw great success, winning several awards including “Best German Game” at the 2023 German Computer Game Awards. Thanks to the intriguing continent of Valandis and a story & cast that captured many hearts. With the ‘Ashes of Elrant’ DLC announced for late 2024. Chained Echoes: ‘Ashes of Elrant’ DLC Release Date Confirmed

With the trailer reveal on 9 December 2024 for the Chained Echoes DLC Ashes of Elrant, Mathias Linda finally confirms the launch date. Mark your calendars for 26 June 2025 as the official announcement date. The DLC will officially drop on 7 August 2025 across all major platforms, accompanied by a new short official trailer.

A new adventure awaits with new locations to explore, a new party member, and of course challenges to face. Mathias also explains the reasons behind the delay from Q2 2025, mainly due to translating the DLC into 6 languages and fixing some minor bugs.

 

Chained Echoes: Ashes of Elrant – What’s New

As announced in the December 2024 reveal, Ashes of Elrant offers a brand-new adventure in CE. It takes place right before the final battle, where the Crimson Wings get a call for help. We’ll learn more about the past of the Order of Leonar and Lenne. It includes:

  • New Character: White Wolf joins as a new playable companion from the kingdom of Elrant
  • Minigames: New minigames like fishing and treasure hunting with a probe
  • Enemies: A total of 40 new enemies and bosses to defeat

Plus new areas to explore, as well as new gear and items. Featuring 15 new tracks composed by Eddie Marianukroh. However, it seems physical copies of CE aren’t ready yet. Many players are frustrated with partner First Press Games’ slow progress, with over 6 months since the last update.
