Slipstream is an arcade racing game developed by ansdor games inspired by the visuals, music, aesthetic, and cars of the late 80’s and early 90’s race across a variety of exotic locations from all over the world, including cities, deserts, forests, mountains, and beaches. Drifting and slipstreaming mechanics add depth to the feel of the driving, and the result is a challenging and exciting experience.

• The game is built on a costume game engine that uses a combination of a pseudo-3D game engine with 2D graphics designed to give Slipstream that authentic retro feel.

Slipstream has simple controls, and once you master how to drift it becomes quite exciting to take the inside lane at a sharp angle as you overtake your rivals. I have no doubt I enjoyed it just that little bit more as I grew up in the era Slipstream is trying to mimic, and I had no idea I was missing Out Run so much until this filled that void.

But that feeling didn’t last for long. Slipstream is full of bad calories. The too-simple races became repetitious, and the multiple game modes struggled in vain to make them interesting. As a distraction from Hotshot Racing, it was welcome.
