Saw is a third-person action survival horror game developed by Zombie Studios and published by Konami and is a tie-in of the Saw film series with the game’s story being set between the first and second films.

Saw follows the story of Detective David Tapp whose gunshot wound was healed by The Jugsaw Killer, and finds himself in an abandoned asylum where The Jigsaw Killer aims to teach him a lesson on life appreciation. Determined to catch the serial killer, Tapp has to play the game The Jigsaw Killer has set for him and at the same time survive the traps and puzzles that are aimed at taking his life in order to escape the asylum.

Tapp has abilities which can help him in his quest for the Jigsaw Killer’s head. He is able to interact with his environment to find items such as weapons, or clues that can help him fulfill objectives. Additional information about the asylum’s past, or about certain victims, can also be obtained through case files and cassette tapes hidden all over the asylum.

When faced with enemies, Tapp will be able to block, counter-attack, or perform attacks. Over 18 different weapons are available for you, however they tend to deplete with use. Tapp can also re-arm or place certain traps in order to avoid combat. At some point in the game, you will be helped by AI teammates. There will also be times when you will be asked to solve puzzles in order to accomplish an objective and move on with the story.
