Mortal Kombat 1 is a joyful reinvention of a series that is continually hitting its stride. A strong and varied roster is bolstered by an ingenious Kameo system that offers up a great degree of player flexibility unlike anything else. While it’s a bit off an odd choice to not have crossplay at launch and the approach to gear is bound to be divisive, Mortal Kombat 1 feels like the most complete Mortal Kombat experience so far. And perhaps even one of the best fighting games I’ve ever played.

Mortal Kombat 1 might not necessarily be the evolution some were hoping for, but it’s still an incredibly polished production. The ‘Kombat’ is perhaps the most refined it’s ever been in the series’ history, Kameo Fighters add a new level of strategy, and reuniting with classic characters in Liu Kang’s reborn universe is an absolute blast. It’s a promising refresh for this legendary series that’s arrived at the perfect time. Here’s to another 30 years of blood, guts and Fatalities.

I enjoyed MK1 a lot. It's a soft reboot of the saga, bringing back some of the best elements from previous games, such as brutality, fluid combos, powerful blows and finishes. It is also modern, with no compromises made on graphics or blood effects, resulting in a visually "clean" game. There are also several online modes and the story revisits the origins of some iconic fighters. I also liked the Kameo function, allowing you to support your main character with a 2nd one. Don't hesitate!
The famous franchise is revisited in the Mortal Kombat 1. The game follows the events of the previous opus, but takes a different approach to the history of certain characters. Spectacular battles and exceptional graphics: that's what we can see in this game, given that modern technology makes animations much more smooth and realistic. The combat system has also been improved, and it's a huge step forward to the franchise.
Mortal Kombat 1 is the lastest entry in the classic fighting title that had always his highlights in a fun dynamic gaming with lots of gore effect. With the last few entries the franchise has gained again the trust and love of the community and MK1 for the most part did as well, despite once again receiving a soft reboot after the events of MK11. A solid title but as of late has received a few issues with dwindling players this early and the always online to access DLC content.
