Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix. This is the twelfth game to come out of the Final Fantasy series. Also, this is a high definition remaster of the game Final Fantasy 12.
In the land of Ivalice, an endless war between the empires of Archadia and Rozarria is taking place. A small kingdom called Dalmasca is caught in the crossfires. Eventually, Dalmasca becomes annexed to Archadia and its princess named Ashe will have none of it. She creates a resistance movement where she meets the adventurer Vaan as well as other allies.
The Zodiac Age includes a revamped Job System called the International Zodiac Job System. The game now also comes in a high definition remaster that has many modern advancements. The game’s battle design has changed as well. Instead of the random encounter system, you will now get to see your enemies as you move through the huge environment.
Players will also experience an all new trophy and share function. Trial and Speed modes have also been added to the game and the visual and sound improvements will surely impress first-time players as well as avid fans.

Most people think FF XII was a mediocre / not so good game in the series, but for me its one of the best. Getting rid of the “random encounter” was a major improvement in my opinion. The combat system was exceptional, you could set all your characters what to do and when (for example use cure when hp is lower than 25%, cast fira when mana is above 75% etc.). So you could really focus on controlling your main guy/girl.
The area, cities, lore was a bit different from the previous games and yet it had all the marks the other Final Fantasy games had (kupo anyone?) The story was interesting, maybe not the best in the series but its pretty decent oh and the music… fantastic as always!
The remastered (HD) version looks great, they updated all the textures, replaced the old ones higher quality models, newly rendered videos and so on. I bet it took a lot of work to make this happen.
If you’re a fan of Final Fantasy and you haven’t played XII maybe this is a great time to get into it, make sure you grab the “Zodiac Age” version which is the remastered title.
