About this game

In life, Death is inevitable, and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. For a job that requires collecting and reaping souls, the Crow, a literal crow, sees it as a great opportunity and of course an honest work. Death’s Door is a 3D Action/Adventure RPG that features a soul-reaping crow. Everything seems to be easy until a soul assigned to him gets stolen and he must track down the thief to a realm untouched by death – where creatures grow far past their expiry.

• Step into the shoes of a fearless Crow. Use melee weapons, arrows, and magic to defeat beats, demigods, and even colossal tyrants.
• Customize your character and gain an advantage. Upgrade your stats and abilities as well
• Venture beyond the Doors and explore a land full of twisted inhabitants and countless secrets, bringing hope to the weird and wonderful characters you’ll meet along the way.

As of right now, Death’s Door is definitely in the running for my game of the year, probably at the top spot. I think it will appeal to many other gamers as well. A wonderful action-exploration adventure filled with humor and bizarre characters, all taking place in a fairy-talesque land with a gorgeous low-poly aesthetic. If this has even slightly caught your attention ahead of launch, you should pick it up.

And as the door closes on the full Death’s Door experience, I’m not at all shy to say this is one of the best games I’ve not only played this year, but in the past number of years. It is stylish and polished to a fault, paced to utter perfection and just oozes confidence from the upstart two-person team at Acid Nerve. I sincerely hope this is a franchise in waiting, because if it’s not, I’m coming for you, Devolver Digital.

Death’s Door is everything I love about gaming, and during my 15 hours or so with the game I struggled to find anything about it that I did not like. It has fantastic combat, great characters, an interesting story and the best level design that I have encountered in years.
