Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book is a single player role-playing game developed by Gust Co. Ltd. and published by Koei Tecmo. From the Atelier series, this is the 17th from the main game.

The protagonist of the game is Sophie Neuenmuller who lives on the outskirts of the small town of Kirchen Bell. She lives in an atelier studio and is in possession of a unique power that lets her combine two items to make it a completely different item. Her main goal is to restore a mysterious book’s memories as well as to bring it back to its human form.

Unlike the previous Atelier games, this one has been completely reformed. Recipes for alchemy can be inspired from doing random things like harvesting, exploring, battling and different events in the game.
