The Activision team announces, one month after the release of Call of Duty Black Ops 6, its continued record-breaking success. Reiterating what they already revealed after the first weekend, Black Ops 6 has smashed several records within the franchise.
It’s the game with the most players, hours played, and matches ever recorded. As mentioned, in just 3 days, Black Ops 6 sold 500 million copies. Celebrating the first month since launch, it’s still one of the top-selling and most-played games, thanks partly to its availability on Xbox Game Pass.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6: Still Dominating the Charts
Adding to the team’s announcement, Circana has shared October 2024 gaming sales data for the US. Analyst Mat Piscatella reported a significant increase in total gaming sales in October 2024. Attributing a 10% year-on-year growth to Black Ops 6.
We’re talking about $4.7 billion, with Black Ops 6 driving a 23% increase compared to 2023’s Modern Warfare 3 Remake. A whopping 82% of PS5 sales in October came from Black Ops 6, while Xbox saw a 16% rise in subscriptions. The game continues to dominate console charts in the US, based on available data.

Personally, I think the game raises the bar a bit. But it does not renew the formula. I've taken a long break from CoD, even though I've been playing the latest games with friends. Still the same modes, the same number of maps (not incredible), dives that don't work at all... the shooting isn't bad, but nothing incredible. The zombies are okay (only 2 maps...), but nothing revolutionary. Good game, but I'd say it's not a risk-taker.
