Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.3.5: Massive Jet Nerfs & Melee Fixes Live

After weeks of community feedback regarding the sluggish air meta and inconsistent melee hitboxes in Battlefield 6, EA has responded with a targeted hotfix that aims to sharpen the game’s edge.

If you’ve been waiting for dogfights to feel dangerous again, Update 1.1.3.5 is exactly what you’ve been asking for, and it goes live later today (January 20).

Battlefield 6: Mastering the 1.1.3.5 Patch

Battlefield Studios finally addresses the “sticky” melee mechanics that have plagued close-quarters combat in BF6. The update significantly boosts melee attack speed and improves hit registration for knives and the sledgehammer against both enemies and the environment.

Crucially, the “sprint interrupt” logic has been overhauled. Previously, attempting a melee strike would instantly kill your momentum. Now, your sprint only breaks once the attack actually connects.

This fluidity allows for aggressive, run-and-gun takedowns without feeling like you’re stuck in mud. Also fixed: a bizarre bug where vehicles would explode if you performed a takedown on an enemy lying on top of them.

BF6 Meta Shift: Air vs Ground

The skies over Battlefield 6 are becoming a true dogfight arena rather than a slaughterhouse. Update 1.1.3.5 reduces jet cannon damage against other air vehicles by approximately 40%.

This massive nerf forces pilots to rely on sustained accuracy rather than quick bursts to down enemy birds. While this extends air-to-air engagement times, it indirectly benefits ground troops.

With pilots occupied longer in the clouds, infantry squads have a larger window to move between objectives without constant strafing harassment.

Get Into the Action for Less

With Season 2 pushed to February, now is the perfect time to jump in and level up your weapons before the new meta drops. Massive discounts are currently available for the Standard and Phantom Editions across platforms.

Is Battlefield 6 Better Now?

Update 1.1.3.5 isn’t a content drop, but a stability bridge. The fixes to melee fluidity and air balance prove the developers are listening to core gameplay feedback. While the wait for Season 2 is painful, this patch ensures the foundation is solid when the new content finally arrives.

Do you think the jet cannon nerf was too harsh, or was air dominance ruining your matches?
